A ROM thread on Simply-Android is a little different than it is on other forums.

First, to keep everything clean, we encourage you to have a "Download Only" thread.  It will be in the Downloads section, and will be closed so that no comments can be made on it.

To create a Download Only thread, start a Discussion just as you would any other.  If your ROM thread is titled "(ROM) NinjaMod v1.0 (26/02/11)" your Download Only thread should be titled "NinjaMod (Download Only)".  Under category, select "Downloads".  It's at the bottom of the list.  A Moderator or Administrator will close your Download Only thread and delete any comments that have been posted shortly after you start it.

In your ROM thread, you should include a link to the Download Only thread by typing "Download" and then clicking the link button in the text editor menu (on top).  The link button looks like a chain with a green circle and a plus sign on it.  Put your Download Only thread link in the box that appears, and you're done!

Your ROM thread's title should also follow the format "(ROM) ROM Name version (dd/mm/yy)" where the last part is the date of the most recent update.  An example (as seen above) would be "(ROM)NinjaMod v1.0 (26/02/11)".  When your ROM is updated, the thread title should also be updated (ex: "(ROM) NinjaMod v2.0 (05/03/11)").  This will help users notice updates with greater ease and will keep the forums easy to read.
