Does it still have the music player on stock that downloads the lyrics as you hear them?

  • rbeier1221rbeier1221 December 2010

Runs great, man!  Only thing I noticed is there was no way to set up mail other than Gmail, but I was able to fix that myself. I will share anything else I notice once I have been on it longer.

  • zontezonte December 2010

Works fine 'til now on a  german T-Mobile Defy. Will give you feedback, when I notice something.

  • AntonioSabanAntonioSaban December 2010

Hey guys, i know that europeans defy are not supported, but i tell you my problem. My spanish defy can´t work with 2g, and work perfectly with 3g and H. Any solution to fix the gprs/2g?

Rest of ROM is perfect, thanks a lot.

  • pb05lifepb05life December 2010

Ok i still get the md5 mismatch error

    Using t-mobile USA

I downloaded it again and still have the same issue.

I have flashed other roms before on the phone. I used Jboogie3 rom for a bit and was looking forward to trying this one.

Right now i have the stock Build jordn_u3_6.19.0 firmware 2.1-update1

  • breezabreeza December 2010

Loving the new ROM so far.

I know I am persistent but I have copied the standard android lock screen layout and created a new zz_moto_keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml which in my opinion looks much cooler than the default defy one.

    Give it a try:

Still can't figure out how to change the clock font to clockopia though ;)

  • IchibahnIchibahn December 2010

I just finished installing this rom and I am having issues with my contacts app.  It won't save any contacts nor will it read from my sim.  I have a U.S. Defy.

  • zero6699zero6699 December 2010

I just flashed my wife's phone and she too is having the same problems with her contacts.  Any idea on a fix?

  • pomahpomah December 2010

I flashed this on a european defy.

It is a nice firmware, but for the momment I'm going back to the stock one:

There is no way to import contacts from sim (I looked through the system/app and the sim manager is gone)

The alarm clock is stupid, it is a dock instead of alarm clock.

    The galary is really laggy

For some reason you have the stock lock screen, which is nice and smooth, but you have the defy answer screen when someone calls you, wierd.

Otherwise I had to add the APN manually for the european networks and the phone worked just fine.

  • SilverLSilverL December 2010

@pomah, because of motoblur and motorola's proprietary drivers and structures a clean AOSP version cannot be made. This still has some traces of blur which includes BlurPhone.apk for calling as replacing with stock will remove all reception.

I think the alarm clock might be deskclock which isn't a dock but turns the whole UI to the alarm clock and turns the screen brightness down. That way its easy to turn on and off the alarm.

Sim Manager was removed, but you might be able to add it back yourself. Dont see why you need it if you had attached a google account before flashing to this.

Hopefully HandlerExploit will add the huge APN list in future builds so you wont have to worry about having to set them manually next time.

Also please remember that the Defy does not have a standard recovery section so this has to be done using essentially a nandroid image. It is hard to manage things properly as of now. But its good to hear that it will flash well outside of the US.

  • breezabreeza December 2010

You can get the stock android answer / ignore sliders here:

They need to go into the Phone.apk. Here they are with the correct file names and path to go straight in:

Looks like they are already in the Phone.apk included in @HandlerExploit's ROM they just have the wrong filenames.

  • pomahpomah December 2010

So we will never see a clean ASOP version of android for the Defy? That is sad, I was hopping on that.

As it is now I have imported all my contacts to my phone through the sim manager, I only have a Google account but for some reason they are stored in the "Motorola phone book", so they are not synced with Google.

But it was nice to see the stock music player and gallery, even if the gallery was extremely laggy on the defy =(
