I found a bug (at least with my install).  I thought I had it working, but with either HandlerExploit's 3gFix from the GB 2.21 firmware or the one I made from the US 6.19.0 firmware there is a problem:  I can't send any text messages because I can't set the SMSC number, either through "Settings" -> "Wireless & Networks" -> "Mobile Networks" -> "SMSC Settings" or by dialing *#*#4636#*#* and going to "Phone Information".

In either case, with either 3gFix, entering a SMSC number and hitting update results in "SMSC Number is invalid".  The OS detects the SMSC from the sim card, but it can't save it with the "Update" button - each time I go back to the menu, the SMSC line is blank again. 

Another symptom is that the SIM Manager App pretty much can't communicate with the SIM card - it can't import contacts for example.

I have confirmed that this isn't a problem with the phone, because if I use recovery to go back to the original USA T-mo firmware (v6.19.0) I can send texts and save SMSC.

Anyone else having this problem? Any ideas?

Ah I found the solution.

Problem was my 10.5-year-old SIM card.  New SIM fixed everything.

My telco has a selection voice menu on their help-line.  One of the self check items is, as u seem 2 have discovered:

"Clean the SIM card contacts".  Perhaps that was all that was wrong?

Will this 3G fix work on froyo ROMS, like the Chinese or the GB 3.4.2 firmware?

if you flashed and lost 3g, but didn't back up, can't someone else just upload a nandroid backup that can be restored?
