You can try the DNS Patch to see if that helps you. Seems to help a lot of others experiencing this issue. Im not sure if theres a link to it on simply-android, but its over at M3.

Same problem here. When I disable my wifi at home I can't get to any websites. The browser reports that there isn't a internet connection. If I restart my phone then it works fine. It's the initial disabling of the wifi that seems to mess something up.

PS I tried the dns patch with no luck. I'm using the 1.2 version though.

Same problem hear. I've noticed however after about five or ten minutes the switch takes place. I think I'll give the patch a try.

The patch isnt instant as far as I remember, it checks every now and again. The problem is known with this phone. Even on stock.

I have not checked (I can't find the zip right now), but my guess is VwE doesn't have /etc/init.d support so the DNS patch won't work on that rom.

@ngiordano. Thanks for the link. Downloaded gscript using ur link and it worked like a charm. No more rebooting to switch to and from wifi.

I solved this issue by reflashing the rom without wiping. Just make sure you backup your apps/settings. Hope it works for you.

For easier access download dg quickcut from market and place a shortcut into the notification bar to dns fix. :)

does restarting work? otherwise try *#*#4636#*#* and see if you can refresh/update the dns and/or disable then re-enable the data connection.

VwE doesn't have init.d support in it, so the regular DNS script doesn't work. You need to add init.d support to the ROM before you can use the DNS script. This patch will add init.d support to VwE and install the DNS script. It works perfectly for me on Handler's VwE 1.2. No more data problems. NOTE: I didn't make this patch. I found it here on SA but forgot who made it. Flash through recovery.
