Hey guys, I just recently bout a cliq in awesome condition from a friend of mine (Tmobile cliq, dunno if that makes a difference) and upgraded it to 2.1 Eclair vanilla (rom manager doesnt install on the 1.5 version to flash cyanogenmod's official update for it). Apparently I cannot remember how to update it to the 2.3 versions cause I did it a year ago. I have the recovery image of 1.4.8 (old, right??) and I dont know where to get more recent ones to flash the cm7 I downloaded. Can someone help me?
Yeah I rooted (I think :S I flashed the 1.4 recovery from my pc with ADB) then did the upgrade to 2.1
Okay apparently I have not rooted :( It worked on my MB220 just fine. Uhm.... How to root? :$
Just root, install rom manager, flash recovery. Once your rooted any number of apps will install the recovery for you, rom manager, adlx's 1-click recovery flasher, etc. Then your good to go.....
Need to get root first though, that's the key...super one click, z4root, follow the guide on cyanogenmod wiki for cliq/dext/mb200
Yeah, can you tell me how to do that?
I'll try that.
Its not available on the market, and the backup I have says that 'there is a problem parsing the package'
I didnt know that, I'll try it now
Okay so just keeping you guys up to date, the only way it stays rooted for the rom manager to flash recovery is to temporarily root it until next reboot with z4root. I think I have to install the google apps too? I'm not sure, with the cm7.1.0.1 update i read that I had to. :| Correct me if I'm wrong, its the only way to get the market?
:D It works! Updated the market and everything. Thanks alot guys :) :)
