Droid Razr Maxx and all Android Super Phones :)

What an incredible phone I must say. But I can only feel bad for the original Droid Razr buyers because the phone only came out 3 months later.
I think the Maxx looks even better without that stupid hump on the back. I would feel terrible if I bought the first phone and a little betrayed.
I think phone tech is moving too fast now, and for almost no productive reasons at all. Spec wars are great, but a single core high clock phone is just as zippy on a daily basis as any dual core.

    What do you guys think?
What will happen once all phones that come out are more powerful than what a user needs and there is no reason to upgrade unless hardware fails?
I feel this point is coming very soon.

Well, the issue is that the manufacturers will always find a way to convince us we need a more powerful device.

I personally feel that the market has already reached the point where devices are overpowered.  What do I need a 1.2GHz dual core processor for? I don't intend to play any graphics intensive games on it.  I don't plan on calculating the nth digit of pi.

I want to be able to use some nice UXs that are retrieving data from services that I use.  That's it.

Technological advances are great, don't get me wrong, but there has to be a need for it.

    tl;dr: I'm a Luddite.
