Help. How to develop an app .
  • Calz_cliqCalz_cliq January 10

Just thought if someone can write their own guide on how to develop an android app.
I've searched on how to and guides and there's no clear instructions.
    Thanks beforehand. :)

You must have programming experience. One prerequisite is java. But if you know any object orientated language like c# then you can still crap through. There is this video tutorial on YouTube by Marakana. You can try that. Cheers!

And how about for beginners with all that? Any books that will help me out with it?

  • Calz_cliqCalz_cliq January 10

Oh and thanks for answering. Appreciate it. :)

I would stay away from buying books. The Internet is the place to get all your resources.

That will teach you about Android as well as Java.

Once you're comfortable with how to do some basic things, search for things on the Android Developers website, StackOverflow, r/AndroidDev, AndDev.org, Google, and of course, good ol' Simply-Android.

    Happy coding!

Sources: I maked a app this one time.

Well i finished the hello world application. Pretty straight forward. Is it really necessary to use the XML editors all the time? Or is there an easier way? How'd you learn to create lifedropper and foundry?

  • sudoadamsudoadam January 10

XML is extremely necessary. It makes everything easier, believe me.

    I assume you're using Eclipse?

  • Calz_cliqCalz_cliq January 10

Yeah I'm using eclipse. Now time to learn xml. Lol this will be hard

  • sudoadamsudoadam January 10

It's not that bad once you get into it :)

  • Calz_cliqCalz_cliq January 10

Mind pointing me into the right direction on learning how to use xml?

If you look through the tutorials (in the left pane), it'll get you better acquainted.
