Failed to move application
  • rachelm920rachelm920 November 2011

I have been having difficulties getting my apps2SD working. I go to the SD tab under applications, and choose move to SD Card and I keep getting "Failed to move application. There is not enough storage left." I thought it was speaking the truth, so on Friday I bought a 8GB SD Card (from a 2GB). I formatted it from My Computer and added back my pictures and ringtones. (Not everything). Still the same error. So last night I did the partition thru Clockwork, went to bed and tried it again this morning. Same thing. So now I reformatted my SD Card thru my phone to get my 8GB back, tried again... same thing. I had to uninstall Google+, just taking up too much room.

    :(
    I am running SuperOSR-morriison-2.1.1

    Hmmmm

I see many post on Google about this issue. No real resolution that I can find. Have you tried moving everything back to phone, if anything is moved to SD, and wiped Dalvik? Try again after that.

I'm going to try a fresh install of the ROM, my SD is completely empty except for what Android automatically put on there. I'm not going to back up my apps, I'll just reinstall through the market website, it lists them all anyhow.

I think I may have messed it up when I formatted the original 2GB SD.

And I still can't decide which frickin phone to get LOL

LOL I'm sure you'll love whatever you get. Don't kill yourself thinking about it too much. All the phones you are thinking about are good phones :-)

If you are really desperate for space download s2e from the market and push the dalvik cache to EXT partition, but you must partition your sd card first.

  • ngiordanongiordano November 2011

Yeah but that's hit or miss.

  • bloodyshytbloodyshyt November 2011

it should be safe. only pushing the apps to the EXT can cause random hot boots. so i only move my dalvik cache to EXT and let cm7 handle my apps. :)

    I mean errors.

I'm good now.. got a new 8GB card so there's plenty of room for apps and I'm gonna add some music too... just need to get some external headphones first, I have a hearing aid so the ear buds don't work well for me.
