Had Pure AOSP installed. Was having FSC's  galore.  Came upon this ROM and after reading about it decided to change.  Went well, Rom looks great; however, need help with a couple of things:  (1)  Backed APPS up to SD card and the ROM did not bring all apps into it, so how to restore from SD? (2) Have secured home network which I use most of the time since carrier signal is not good in my area.  Unable to get wifi to work.  After entering the network ID and WEP , the phone recognizes, then just round robins with the process.  Thanks

Downloaded and installed the ROM from this link;http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?uwboj1blqe2t2yx

Is this the right one? or should it be from this link;http://www.mediafire.com/?llrmxlzeo9go6 And if from this link, which file?

Love this ROM except can't get WIFI for work and without that, download any apps from market.  Need that since I don't have the app MYBackupRoot that I used to backup the apps.

    Thanks for any help.

Wow.  Doityourself is a learning process.  I finally got mybackuproot app by downloading to my PC and then putting it on the phone.  Now I it is restoring the apps.  A slow process so will wait and see.  Still no way with the wifi though.

    WiFi should be working  :-??

It's the same exact setup as CM7. If there was an issue I'm sure there would be a lot of comments about it. Did you do a full wipe before installing? Although there should be no major reason to wipe everything, just Dalvik. All of these gingerbread ROM's are built from CM source as their base. This ROM has some source changes to give it it's own little unique look.

  • donpvdonpv November 2011

I did full wipe per instructions on page 1.  I also did a backup of all.  I really like the ROM. I believe it is even plainer than Jaydub's.  So far it works great except for the WIFI.  The  network reception where I live is not good.  I have to connect to my network to do most things with the phone.  Don't understand why it will not connect.I now have mybackuproot going (downloaded it again) and it has recovered most if not all of the apps that I had.

If I don't have wifi by tomorrow , should I just reflash the rom that I download?

Thanks,  and glad you are "lurking"  Is nice to know that you are usually available. \\\

LOL Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I've been spending a lot of time with my kid. The link you posted is the latest with WiFi working

Have you tried to reset you router? I have to do that once in a while myself.
Likewise, have you tried flashing a different ROM to see if it connects? You could backup a nandroid in recovery and try. Then you could revert after trying.

  • donpvdonpv November 2011

Thanks.  Will try that tomorrow.  Tired out for now.  I will let you know how it turns out, even If I have to find you on another forum....

Ngiordano,  if you are around;  I have tried everything and still can't get on wireless. Can connect using  the Pure AOSP rom, but when I try the Super OSR the network is recognized, I enter the security key, and then it says "disabled:...   I guess I will have to try another ROM.  Preferably one that does not require updating.

Can you suggest a ROM?  Thanks

Well anyway;  update.  I reflashed the ROM and still could not get WIFI to work with my network, so finally reset the network security to no security and then the phone connected.  So it may be something with the security setup on the phone.  The ROM well with all other functions so far, so I intend to keep it if nothing changes.  I like it better that any I have had to date.  Thanks.  Don

    i need some help !!!!

i have an motorola dext with SuperOSR 2.1.1 and when I make or recieve a call and raise the phone to my head the screen goes blank which in it's self is fine, but after the call has concluded the screen remains blank and there appears to be know why to get it to leap back into life i have tried to pressing all the buttons including the power, the only way seems to be to remove the battery and force a reboot.
Anyone else experienced this or have any ideas that might help solve it?

  • ngiordanongiordano December 2011

Some people experience this. I've only experienced this in the beginning of my development of GB which leads me to believe there are left over fragments of files. My solution till it worked it's way out was to set the power button as the hang up button. You can find this option in settings>accessibility. Press ok on the usual pop-up notification and put a check in end call behavior.

5 days of using SuperOSR 2.1.1 for Motorola Cliq/Dext on my old Orange Dext and it has a new lease of life. It is the best ROM available for this phone and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is looking for a huge improvement on the old 1.5 offered by Motorola/Orange in the UK.

  • casu91casu91 February 11

I want to try this ROM..But I have a question..it's possible to backup my ROM (CM7) like a cm7 update??

  • ngiordanongiordano February 11

    yes

  • casu91casu91 February 11

and in new ROM I refind my apps with my settings, widgets etc??

  • ngiordanongiordano February 11

No. You need to wipe before using this. Even though it is based off of CM7 it has changes that could mess up the install.

  • casu91casu91 February 11

    Ok thanks :)
