I doubt the cliq will. It's very outdated.

I HOPE that they do update the cliq. I still like this phone, even though its small all around. 

Nah, this probably won't even affect the Atrix. Sounds like it will influence upcoming phones, but that's probably it. At the very most, they would release codes for bootloaders and stuff like that.

I wonder if motorola would make a good nexus phone, I also wonder what this means for motoblur. What I want is to see motoblur die a slow, painful death

if you read the actual comments from Google, they specifically state that Motorola will 1) remain its own branch and continue to work the way it always has and 2) Motorola will still have to bid, as always, for the rights to be able to build the next Nexus phone. Basically what this is saying is that Motorola will stay Motorola, Google just bought them for the patents for the patent war they were losing against Apple. Another reason I see proof to this happening is the way how all the other mobile phone companies that have profited from Google's Android (Samsung, HTC, LG, Sony Ericsson, etc) have supported this acquisition, which has led me to believe that they were told exactly that, Motorola is only being bought for patents, they will receive no special treatment. 
Now i have heard reports of Motorola having well over 17,000+ pending patents, to as little as 170+ (i believe its somewhere towards the middle of those) So it would only make sense for Google to acquire Motorola and use the patents to kick some Apple butt!

If I was google id buy lg or pantek. They underrated nd atrix has the ghz but still laggy. Moto just needs to either blow away apple or vanish like blur. But don't get me wrong. I'm married to my moto cliq but the cliq2 looks nd feels like a dum. I just want my cliq wit mt nd oc nd flash 10.3 nd camera flash nd 1.5ghz. But that's my dream. I just hate how android phones get outdated so fast nd incompatible. Android needs to make a cheaper mytouch2
