Ram is just memory, that doesn't necessarily boost its performance, Cliq is a old generation device without a GPU so making games not run the best

Your task killer and memory optimizer is probably using more ram than it's saving you...

That is true. I already have a task killer in  the ROM. In fact all the Gingerbread ROM's use it. Using task killers in gingerbread and froyo ROM's only kill your battery. They apps are needed by 2.2-2.3 to operate properly. If you kill them they return and the process of killing and restarting is a heavy battery drainer.

On CM7 I am averaging between 120 and 130 mb free RAM, when it drops below say 115 I reboot and that stops any unnecessary background apps and returns to 130 or better, would suggest reboot at least once a day...

edit--> just rbooted and checked running processes and currently have 147mb free....that's awesome...

thats some good ram i get bout fifty of sixty but drops to forty.

That is about normal with widgets and running apps. That is also good. It frees up Ram when needed. You are using an older phone and pushing it to it's limits.

You could use Autostart from the market. It will allow you to prevent an app from "waking up" after a certain function (i.e. prevent the stock browser from automatically opening when connecting to wifi). That, along with Autokiller Memory Optimizer, helps me stay within 70-90mb of RAM.
