I am not responsible for any damage to your device. I am a novice Developer learning along the way. Not all my changes are beneficial to our device. I learn of the issues rather quickly and try to fix them promptly.
You should have some knowledge of rooting and flashing ROM's before attempting. This is not for the novice user. If you have issues it is most likely a bad flash, hardware issue, or some ghost left in your device. These phones are stubborn and like to fight change. Flashing nightlies tend to fix stubborn issues.
If you have issues please provide logs. This will help determine issues.

For issues that don't lead to reboots:
    Easy way:

    download alogcat from market.
    Run app
    Reproduce the issue
    Save the log in alogcat
Paste the output to pastebin.com, submit and paste the resulting URL to the thread with a brief description

    Random reboots
    Open Terminal Emulator app
    type:

    su
    cat /proc/last_kmsg > /sdcard/kmsg.txt

You will find the kmsg.txt on the root of your SD card.
Paste the resulting log to pastebin.com, submit, and paste the resulting URL to the thread.

    First Time Install:
    • Download the the latest recovery using Rom Manager
    • Download latest update: Download Link
    • Download super-wipe.zip: http://www.mediafire.com/?x4dteoqsonzkr9n
    • Put both on the root of your SD card.
    • Boot to your recovery
    • Flash super-wipe.zip first
    • Wipe data/factory reset
    • Flash latest update
    • Fix permissions
    • Reboot.
    • After boot let it settle for 10 minutes.
    • Open Rom Manager.
    • Press menu and select manual flash override and ok. Select Motorola Cliq then clockworkmod 3.x
    • Go to "Download ROM>Google Apps
    • Download latest Google Apps (top)
    • After download a window will pop up.
    • Leave Wipe Dalvik checked. I recommend Backup as well.
    • The rest will be automated assuming you flashed ClockworkMod Recovery
    Updating from previous build

    SD card update
    • Download latest update: http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=morrison
    • Place it on the root of your SD for simplicity.
    • Open Rom Manager (Be sure to have the latest CWM recovery)
    • Select "Install ROM from SD Card
    • Select the latest nightly
    • A window will pop up. Leave "Wipe Dalvik" checked
    • Put a check next to Backup Current ROM
    • Let your phone reboot and the rest is automated.
    • When finished booting, open Rom Manager and install the latest Gapps again
    • Just Wipe Dalvik
    • Reboot and enjoy

If you have a legitimate Rom Manager Premium. Open Rom Manager and "Check for ROM Updates" for even more ease.

    The latest changelog:

Log in using Setup Wizard. You'll get a check-list to download some of the important apps.
(Setup Wizard might loop back to android after setup. press the home button and launchers should show.)
Please enable CMStats. The little icon in the upper left corner. It's anonymous.
Install the launcher of your choice if you like.
Go into /settings/cyanogenmod settings/performance and disable compcache
Put a check by "Lock home in memory.
Some say to keep surface dithering disabled. I enable mine. I don't like the gradient banding. I haven't found it to impact performance much.
Set your CPU governor the way you like.
Reboot so that it could finish binding your settings.
Using Titanium Backup? Do not restore system settings. It will break things like WiFi.
Calibrate your battery. Download and install this app: http://www.mediafire.com/?5wib3m3afp2hem1 Charge your battery to 100% and press the calibration button in the app. To simplify things. :-)

For troubles with Superuser, flash this in recovery:http://www.mediafire.com/?1wntnrjuluk853w

To switch to another ROM make sure you wipe very well with this: http://simply-android.com/discussion/1343/super-wipe-patch/p1

     Themes
Here's a great HoneyComb theme. Download the theme chooser version. Install the apk. Open theme chooser and select HoneyComb. If you get a pop-up warning just allow it. http://zdunex25.mywpm.com/android/#honeycomb
Hopefully soon we'll see some more themes from him. :-)

    AZERTY Patch for French users:

Just flash in recovery without wiping
    ___________________________________________________________________________________________
    Multi-touch patch
I said I wouldn't create this. I decided to do it because others are creating it without warning of potential damage. There is a high risk of damaging your display with this. Our phone was not design for multi-touch. It surges the the connections in the display and renders them useless. I will not support this patch. I only created it and am now releasing it with a warning.

    BRAVO !!!

At what interval would you recommend a first time install, when already doing nightlys ?

  • ngiordanongiordano August 2011

Full wipes should be performed regularly. When you don't feel things are right or sluggish. My phone never feels sluggish because I wipe often. I do it to make sure everything is working properly without the previous rom effecting it. Restoring and downloading apps doesn't take me long. In fact I enjoy fresh installing and setting up.

  • Double0EKDouble0EK August 2011

I too enjoy a fresh flash now and again. And reverting back to stock and rooting just to clarify that ts a clean install. I guess just for s&gs..

  • Jemar55Jemar55 August 2011

@ngiordano I finally got the chance to update to 2.3.5 last night... :-)... I have not had any reboots so far, and i restored all my apps including ADW EX... So it seemingly wasn't the battery or an app issue, i think the prob was that some old files were probably stuck. So i guess the multiple wipes using factory reset, superwipe and going into advance and wiping each area separately did the trick. Now i am rocking #63 jumped from #48 runs great, my phone is always cool.... still gonna order a new battery soon though  and switch out this one into my XT.

    Thanks for your help bro!!!

I had reboots and found a solution (at least for me)

    The history

    - From #4 to #50, I just update over current CM version without wipping and had no reboot problems. (OK)
    - Update from #50 to #55 the same way (Random Reboots)
    - First Time Install method to install #55 (OK)
    - First Time Install method to install #58 (Random Reboots)

After some trial and error test, I could not determine what was causing the reboots.
I read that it coluld be a battery problem and I noticed thath every time my phone reboot, it was hot.

First attempt was left the phone off over night and try to turn on in the morning without success... reboot.. reboot.. reboot...

    Reinstal #58 using
First Time Install method and problem solved... at least for first days... then suddenly random reboot appear again.
Same symptom, the phone is hot.

Before attempt to reinstall #58 or upgrade to another, I just tried to Fix Permissions from recovery.. and..... Voila!!! The phone starts whitout problem!

Something I noticed is that the process takes much longer than when I Fix Permissions using First Time Install method.

Hope this could help to find & repair reboot issue, or at least help someone else.

Thanks for this great room Team Rogue!!!

THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(does it have to do with the kernal?) idk sh!t about nothing so work wit me... :D

  • ngiordanongiordano August 2011

@HectorAlfonso did you do any kind of restoring? If so what? I see some errors you shouldn't be getting.

If not reflash the rom and gapps wiping dalvik then fix permissions.

    @djmurphix
it works sometimes. It's finicky. The Cliq/Dext has a shared gpu. It causes some issues with graphics and animation in gingerbread. I'm trying some things but...

  • HectorAlfonsoHectorAlfonso August 2011

Not at all but i did no format my SD only the ext partition (to keep my music and pics)

  • ngiordanongiordano August 2011

You shouldn't need to format the SD. Try what I posted.

Good night everyone. I work in couple.
