Theming Assistance Pretty Please

Hey yall,

So I am trying to learn more about custom theming and decided to modify a theme .apk used in theme chooser for CM7. I went into the apk file and edited the pngs to look the way I would like and no matter what I can't get it to install. I have tried re-signing it and everything with zipsigner2 and with apk manager but I can't seem to make it work. Anyone wanna give it a go?

OK Posted the links to what I have done in the original post. I think it may just be that I went to crazy editing the png files. It took me forever LOL. Hope it can work.

You're the man. When are you going to make more themes for me? You gave up?

People want themes. We can setup a repository. Most CM7 themes are for HDPI. There are a lot of devices that are MDPI. You could be a hero!

I would love to learn how to make a theme from scratch(ish). I downloaded the android sdk and also eclipse with the ADT plug in. When I put the theme in eclipse it said that the manifest had errors and that it was not parsed. These are things that I know nothing about and would love to learn. Seems like it would take forever!!!!!

Here are the morphs that I modified to be used with ZipThemer!!!! They work and I LOVE THEM!!!! lol

Ill put up screenshots in a few minutes. When you load them in ZipThemer they show up with the file names of the morphs that I modified. Does anyone know how to fix that?

How well can you convert HDPI to MDPI?

here are the screenshots of the addons....for some reason...i cant get them to work on the music app or the clock app. I dont know why...even when i installed the original add-ons it didnt mod my music app or clock app. heres what I have so far

This is just a modded verson on the punk_pink add ons by upward spiral. I have no idea how to code and build this stuff on my own LOL. Im just really good with photoshop for the icons and stuff.

Now if only I can make the APK work and finish it off. LOL

hehehe yeah....the girly stuff I find is usually really simple and all one color. Im a colorful chick. If @DJGHOSTS3V3N gets the apk to work its gonna be pretty!!! hehehe. If you anyone downloads the add ons let me know if it themes your music and clock app. It didnt theme mine for some reason.

@jassycliq gimme gimme gimme I tried to make one that changed colors along with this theme but everytime I modify something....it doesn't work. Maybe I am saving the PNG's in the wrong format or something.

Yall should do a clas to help get the sdk and stuff working on the computer. I had one heck of a time trying to figure it all out today. I am usually pretty good with html coding but its way different. I can't believe that this stuff has become my new hobby. My family thinks I've gone around the bend. LOL

so far i see that the power widget icons are pink but thats it...all the icons for the apps are still just pink. I dont see anything else that is the gradient colors that I used.

OOOOOH and the contacts background is transparent woot woot thats hot.

Wait....this might be from the punk pink that I was using. it updated.

I dont see it in the theme chooser. Is it supposed to be there?

Its supposed to be in the theme chooser, just scroll slowly from each theme and look down into the names until you find it..

hmmm it says I have 6 but the 4th one doesnt show up. Let me see if I may have put it in my systems file while I was trying to make it work.

hmm well flashing it changed my boot animation but its not installing the apk. idk. dont work on it too much I don't want to be a bother. :p

I tried to axtract the apk from the zip and it installed but wouldnt load in theme chooser. it said that the theme was not compiled correctly =(

It's there @raven try this scroll through the themes put it in between the line for what ever number there that you can't see the theme. Apply the theme and it Will show. That happen to me before when I got this theme for AmeriCan Android Rom for the hd2.
